Julia at 7:

Weight: 60 pounds (75th percentile)
Teeth Lost: 8
Julia had a wonderful year. We tackled a lot with her over the last 12 months. We worked hard to help her cope with her intense feelings in positive ways, and we have been so pleased with her progress even though there is more work to be done. When you are a child who feels things quickly, passionately, and overwhelmingly, it can be hard to navigate everyday life. We try hard to hold her hand along the way and let her know that she is so much much loved just the way she is. Julia continues to be loving and helpful, and there is nothing better than seeing Julia smile with her gap toothed grin and adorable dimples.
Julia also worked hard to get her "reading wheels" off the ground this year, and we are happy to report she's now cruising sky high!! She works so hard to improve, and we are really proud of her. While in Kindergarten, Julia enjoyed working on her Number Scroll (she was into the 3,000s by year end!), playing with a wide variety of friends, and working her way through NOVA swim lessons before graduating onto the Novice Prep team. She is very proud of her swimming accomplishments. She is very competitive and wants to win every race she swims in!
Julia is happiest when she is playing "free." Whether that means playing Barbies with her sisters or swimming for hours on end in the pool, she definitely enjoys non-structured activities the most. She loves taking bike rides with her family and spend hours over the last year "journaling" in her bed every night.
We are so proud of Julia and all that she has accomplished this year!
For her birthday party, Julia opted to take her friends to SkyZone. She wanted a giraffe themed cake and goody bags. Julia had a great time bouncing around the trampoline park with her buddies!
Margaret at 7:
Height: 46 inches (10-25th percentile)
Weight: 49 pounds (25th-50th percentile)
Teeth Lost: 0 (Margaret is very miffed about this! So much so, that she wrote the Tooth Fairy demanding to know when she will begin to lose her teeth. The Tooth Fairy assured Margaret that 7 will be a tooth-losing year for her!)
Margaret really asserted herself as an individual this year. Although she was always happy to "do the twin thing" with Julia, she definitely began to just "do Margaret" more often. It was very cool to watch! Margaret prides herself on being just a little bit different than her sisters. She often proclaims that she is "AWESOME", and we agree! Margaret LOVES unicorns, narwhals, and rainbows. Obsessed is probably the better word. :)
In school, Margaret proved to be a rockstar reader. She really enjoys books, and takes great pride in the fact that reading is a strength of hers. Margaret is an easy going kid in the classroom. She made friends easily this year and worked hard to speak up with confidence in her classroom.
Margaret loves to play with her sisters, and drawing is a favorite hobby of hers, but we'd be lying if we didn't mention that Margaret is happiest when on the couch with a snack watching one of her favorite shows. :) Margaret is also proving to be a bit of a "collector." Nearly every surface in her room is covered with a display of some sort, each containing seemingly random objects, mementos, and in some case, even trash (or what I consider trash!). This personality quirk can sometimes rub an OCD mom the wrong way, but I try my best to respect Margaret's choice in room decor.
We have so enjoyed watching Margaret develop over the last year!
For Margaret's 7th birthday soiree, she wanted a unicorn themed party at Frostings Cupcake Shop. She and her friends decorated cupcakes in the likeness of a unicorn and narwhal!
