Snow Day!

It turns out it must still be winter after all, because despite the mild temperatures we've been having, Richmond got almost 5 inches of snow overnight! We all awoke this morning to a beautiful winter wonderland outside and very chilly temperatures inside - the storm knocked out our power around midnight and it didn't come back until almost noon.
While I stayed inside and tried to keep the babies warm, Caroline and Daddy went out to play and build a snowman. Later on, when we could no longer withstand a house without heat, we headed over our neighbor's fully heated house to defrost a little and visit with our friends. Thankfully, it wasn't long before our own power was back and we were able to return home for lunch, afternoon naps, and lots and lots of indoor play time.

Suited up and ready to go outside. Yes, those are Target bags around Caroline's feet. Mommy dropped the ball on buying snow boots this year :)

Frances spent most of the day wrapped in a blanket.
Julia mesmerized by the Christmas pig at the Anderson's house.
This was what I found under the covers of Caroline's bed after her marathon independent play session. Yes, that is a ride on car. No idea how she hoisted that into bed.
Julia looking cute in her snowsuit.
Margaret spent a lot of time this afternoon trying to pull herself into a stand on the couch.
She was finally successful....but only with Mommy's help :)
