A Visit with Legendary Santa

On Saturday night we took all the girls to visit Legendary Santa at the children's museum. Our friends the Benjamins joined us for the fun outing.  We started out with some play time in the museum, continued with a couple rides on the holiday train and a quick dinner of Mickie D's, and then it was time for the main event.

I personally was very excited to see the show because Santa actually comes down a chimney and into a fireplace! Caroline was a bit apprehensive leading up to the big moment, but we had been talking it up all day so I don't think she was as nervous as she could have been. When it was her turn to go up and sit on Santa's lap, I was pleased to see that Caroline didn't cry. She didn't smile, but she didn't cry. At least that's an improvement over last year. The babies were happy as clams in their stroller, so we decided to let them be and save their first Santa experience for next year.

Caroline asked Santa for a big girl bed and some princess toys and then posed for her picture before scooting off his lap and immediately requesting the cookie I had promised her if she sat still for more than 5 seconds and didn't cry.  After downing her cookie, she began inquiring as to the whereabouts of her big girl bed, as if telling Santa what she wanted was all that was required and that he better pony up her present pronto.

It took a bit of explaining that Santa would be bringing her gifts in a couple weeks, but she eventually backed down and away we went, happy to check another holiday event off our list!

At least I was excited to visit with Santa!

In other Christmas related news, check out this picture I took of Caroline's Little People nativity set. Clearly it's a depiction of the phrase, "Jesus is the Reason for the Season," don't you think??!!
