Happy New Year!

We ushered in 2014 in a very low key fashion in the Hepper household. Mommy and Daddy originally had New Year's Eve plans, but when I went 0-9 on the babysitter front (I really need to find some babysitters who are not so socially busy...they all had their own NYE parties to attend!) we threw in the towel and settled for a quiet evening at home. It was nice. Instead of starting off the year tired and a little hungover under the weather, I got a great night's sleep and woke up ready to greet 2014 with a smile on my face.
Julia got the new year started off on the right foot with her first ever haircut. I took the girls to "Pigtails and Crewcuts" on New Year's Eve day with intentions for only Margaret to get a trim. Julia dug in her heels though and said, "it MY turn, Mommy!" after Margaret's cut was finished. I didn't have the heart to say no, so I gave her the go-ahead. Julia scampered into that chair faster than you can say "scissors" and away the stylist went, snipping away some of those beautiful blond locks while I looked on, feeling sad that my last baby was getting her first haircut. Julia looks great though, so it was for the best.
We spent New Year's Day lounging around, being lazy, and enjoying each other's company. Caroline had a friend over to play, and the twins enjoyed one last day of Daddy being home from work.
Julia was a natural in the haircut seat. She didn't bat an eye when the stylist started snipping.
This is her post haircut "cheese" face.
Caroline and Mary Michael played "fashion show"...

...played with peanut butter play dough...

...and laughed at Mommy's attempt to make 2014 pipe cleaner glasses.
My second attempt wasn't much better, so we threw in the towel...
...and went with paper signs instead.

Happy New Year from our home to yours!
