Buy a Coffee Table, Get a Cardboard Car

As strange as that sounds, that's just what happened in our house last week. When my long awaited living room coffee table was delivered, it arrived in a huge box. Not too long ago, the girls and I turned a different furniture box into a cardboard house, so I thought we may as well build a car to go along with it!
All it took was a box cutter, some twine, and paint to get the "Hepper Hauler II" (Hepper Hauler I is my Suburban) created and ready for the road! The girls (along with our buddy, Campbell) did a great job designing and decorating the outside of the car. On the inside, we added steering wheels, a back seat, and a radio to make it more realistic.
The girls have spent the last several days loading up with car with all kinds of junk important luggage and taking trips all over town without ever leaving the house!

Caroline and Julia helped me get started while Margaret finished her nap.
Once we cut out all the windows and doors, we took the car outside to paint it.
It was a group effort.
Someone got a little sidetracked along the way.
Margaret found a piece of Styrofoam and turned it into a work of art. Seriously - she did this entire painting herself!!
Margaret and Julia testing out the back seat of the car.
These girls are ready to ride!

Bed head or crazy driver? Probably a little bit of both!
Sweet Margaret behind the wheel while eating a cracker.
The car is packed and ready to go on its next adventure!!!

  1. My favorite post! I laughed out loud at J's hair and Marg's giant painting she did by herself! Such a sweet picture of the girls painting!
