Memorial Day Weekend

Our Memorial Day weekend was low-key but nonetheless full of fun! We enjoyed a lot of family time, a BBQ at our neighbor's house, went swimming at a friend's pool, and went to Westwood for their Memorial Day BBQ.

Summer, Here We Come!

Caroline's last day of school was this past Wednesday and as soon as I got over the feeling of panic at the loss of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday preschool mornings I was able to get excited about all the summer time fun we have ahead of us.

Preschool Picnic

We were excited to go to Caroline's preschool playground tonight for the end-of-the-year school picnic.

Caroline had a great time visiting with her friends and classmates, running around the playground, and jumping in the bounce house. The twins had a great time eating about 10 pounds of watermelon, which is the only thing they did during the hour and half we were there :)

So excited to have a Popsicle that she knows Mommy would never buy :)

Back in the Swing of Things and a Happy Mother's Day

With all the twins completely healthy by this past Friday, we were ready to get back in the swing of things. Luckily we had lots to do: we ran errands, met Daddy out for lunch, and celebrated a friend's birthday, our babysitter's graduation, and Mother's Day! The whole weekend was busy but fun, and my Mother's Day included just enough of all the things that make me happy: family time, extra sleep, shopping, and some alone time. :)

This shopping cart is AMAZING! Target is lucky it doesn't collapse and fold, otherwise it'd be in the trunk of my car right now.

The Hepper Hot Zone

Remember when I said the twins had fevers of 103 over the weekend? Well, it turned out that it wasn't just fevers they had, it was hand-foot-mouth disease. For those of you lucky enough not to know what that is, let me fill you in. It is a highly contagious, long running (5-7 days of misery), and just plain old nasty virus. Both Margaret and Julia had high fevers for three days, accompanied by severe crankiness, complete loss of appetite, disrupted sleep, and then a rash on their mouths (and in their throats), hands and feet that turned into blisters. Yuck.

To say that the last 6 days have been tough would be an understatement. Caroline wasn't sick (thank goodness), but since we were still basically a walking hazmat site, I kept the girls away from all our friends this week and that made for one bunch of lonely and cranky Hepper girls, myself included!

Thank goodness I had a previously scheduled "spa morning" with some girlfriends and then a ladies' night yesterday, otherwise I may have been checked into a loony bin due to excessive exposure to crying tots. I am happy to report that we are all just about back to normal today, and very much looking forward to rejoining society!
