Big Canoe 2014

We had so much fun visiting Marmee and Grampy at Big Canoe this summer! Check it out..
There's nothing like having a pool in your backyard!
Getting our visit starting off right with a trip to the ice cream parlor!
One of my favorite "happy places" is found running the trails of Big Canoe.
Happy girls lunching after at the swimming lake.
It's hard to believe we'll be sending Miss Caroline off to Kindergarten in less than a week!

Living the sweet life.
Julia the water baby...who isn't really a baby anymore.
Julia living it up in the splash pool.
Julia and Margaret checking out Marmee and Grampy's butterfly garden.
Rub-a-dub-dub,  twins in the tub!
Crafting cousins

Daddy on the golf course.
Hamming it up at dinner.
Mommy and Margaret chillin' poolside.
Dunked!!
Two peas in a pod.
Marmee treated the girls to a trip to Babyland General: the hospital where Cabbage Patch Dolls are born!
We got to see a Cabbage Patch doll being born!

Uncle Paul showing off some wicked dance moves...
...and overseeing sandcastle building.
Caroline, Landon and Sophia shoving off on a paddleboat with Uncle Paul.
Mommy and Margaret out on a canoe - Margaret's boat of choice!
The adult children excited to go out to dinner!!

One of the many times Uncle Michael corralled the kids for play time.

When the Cat's Away...

...the twins will play! Caroline and Daddy went away on a special trip this weekend, and while they were gone, Julia and Margaret got to soak up some extra time with Mommy. We stayed busy with a visit to Maymont, a trip to the playground, a couple bike rides around our neighborhood, and a few extra treats in between. :)
We were sad to see Caroline and Daddy go, but we knew they'd have a great time together!
We kicked off our fun weekend with lunch out at Jason's Deli.

We LOVE Maymont!
Julia got such a kick out of feeding the goats.
Margaret preferred to keep her distance.
Both girls were mesmerized when the trainers came to bridle the horses.
And then they were blown away when the trainers hooked up the horses to a golf cart and led them away to the stables across the park for their breakfast!
Giggling at a goat
The fox was one of the girls' favorite animals.
I loved the aviaries - so many cool birds like this great horned owl!
Margaret and Julia checking out the bears.
Back at home, Mommy took the girls for a long bike ride around the neighborhood, and then the girls scootered to the playground.
Julia made it all the way to Collegiate!
Double trouble behind the wheel!

Back at home again, working on some "writing." Margaret is giving me the stink eye because I wasn't giving her enough "pwivacy." Ha!
Margaret made some good strides with potty training this weekend! Here she is celebrating her success with a stack of Lifesaver gummies!
Meanwhile, we're pretty sure Caroline had a blast at Grandpa and Grandma's lake house... ;-)

We were so happy to see this sweet girl (and her Daddy!) on Sunday!
