A Festival, A Field Trip, and Some Family Time

We crammed just about as much as we could into this past weekend. Saturday was a drizzly, dreary day, but that didn't stop Daddy from golfing and Mommy and the girls from getting out and having some fun. We went to St. Christopher's Fall Festival and had a great time. In the afternoon, Daddy took the girls to the playground so Mommy could take a break (and maybe a little nap).
On Sunday, we took a field trip to the pumpkin patch at Ashland Berry Farm and then spent the late afternoon and early evening with Uncle Tate, Aunt Donna, and cousins Will and Claire.

Margaret was a little unsure about the fair.
Her form isn't so great, but it got the job done!

I'm not so sure about this carousel ride, Mom.
NOW I'm digging this fair!!!
Just keep looking over there, Julia....

Caramel Apples and the State Fair, Round Two

We've been very busy this fall taking part in all of the fun the season has to offer. One activity we've never done before though is make caramel apples. I thought the girls were all old enough this year to enjoy both the process and the product of this project, even if our wonderful pediatric dentist would tsk-tsk if she knew what we were doing :)
We invited our neighborhood buddies Big C, Campbell, and Mary Kate over to join in the sticky sweet fun. Caroline and Big C had just come home from a ballet birthday party, so they got an extra (extra) dose of sugar for the day. You'd better believe there was some major tooth brushing going down at our house that night!
We also went back to the State Fair this past weekend. It was the last weekend, and we just couldn't pass up to chance to go again with our buddy, Big C. :-)

All the girls holding up their apples before dipping them in the yummy caramel.

While our apples were setting up in the refrigerator, we all went outside to play...

No play time would be complete without the bounce house!

Love these girls....
...and these girls.
Holy smokes! That giraffe has a loooong tongue! Caroline loved feeding him carrot sticks!
She got a kick out of feeding the llama too.

Julia found Michael's single stroller empty and immediately made herself at home.

There's no way I'm giving up this ride, Michael!!

A Visit from the Great Pumpkin!

On Tuesday morning, the Hepper girls were very excited to awake to a fun surprise...a visit from the Great Pumpkin!! The mysterious pumpkin left behind a note, treats for each of the girls, and pumpkin shaped pancakes for everyone! The girls were very excited by the Great Pumpkin's visit and are hoping that he will come again some time before Halloween! :-)

The Great Pumpkin's gifts to the girls.
No way...the Great Pumpkin came last night??!!
So excited!
