Halloween, Round II

Another fantastic Halloween is in the books for the Hepper crew! Thankfully, Hurricane Sandy only brought a lot of rainfall to Richmond, and the weather cleared up just in time for a chilly but sunny Halloween day. We did have two Halloween parties get cancelled in the midst of the storm on Sunday and Monday, but I'm okay with that because I am exhausted today and I can't imagine how much more tired I would be had those festivities gone on as planned!

We started off the day on an exciting note because the Great Pumpkin (aka Mommy) made it's first ever trip to the Hepper household. The girls woke up to find a note and a pumpkin full of treats! Then we all headed off to school to participate in FPP's Halloween parade. After school, we had rest time and watched the movie the Great Pumpkin brought (smart cookie, that Great Pumpkin), carved our pumpkins, and then got dressed for the main event. At 6pm sharp, we headed out the door and across the street to our annual Halloween block party, and then scored some major loot trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. A good time was had by all!

My only disappointment this year was that I didn't get any group pictures of the girls in their costumes. It was too cold for the twins to wear their costumes without coats, and Caroline was too excited to sit still for one second, let alone long enough for a picture to be taken. Oh well...I'm sure no one would have been looking at the camera anyways!
The Great Pumpkin's note.
Caroline so excited to see everyone's name.
Of course, Margaret got a book.
The Great Pumpkin even remembered the dogs.

Hip hip hooray for the latest Tinkerbell movie!!
Off to the Halloween parade...so excited!
Daddy came to watch!

I took a peek into the twins' classroom after the parade. I found the girls doing exactly what they would have been doing at home: Margaret was snuggled up with one of her teachers, reading a book, and Julia had just stolen a toy from another child and was laying on top of it to prevent anyone else from taking it. Sad, but true!

Neighborhood kids ready to trick-or-treat.
While the big kids were trick-or-treating, Julia and Margaret passed the time by eating...and hunting for candy...

I think the candy was going to their heads...

A Spook-tacular Visit!

Marmee and Grampy came into town this past weekend to visit and help us get even more into the Halloween holiday spirit. They didn't bring any tricks, but they sure did bring a lot of treats! We watched Caroline play soccer, enjoyed some fabulous meals out on the town, visited another pumpkin patch to replace our mutilated pumpkins, and spent a lot of time speculating on just how scary Hurricane Sandy would be as she
made landfall.

She shoots...she scores!

Julia snacking AND dribbling her way through the game.
Here, Grampy, you left your chocolate mocha on the ground. I think I only took about 10 sips.
At the pumpkin patch, Caroline keeps her eyes open for the perfect selection.
Grampy found his perfect pumpkin!!
It seemed like a great photo op, but the twins weren't so jazzed.
New pumpkins selected - let the playground fun begin!

Time to say goodbye to Marmee :(
Thankfully, the neighborhood kids were happy to in and play with Caroline after Marmee and Grampy left.
