Let's Pretend It's Still Wednesday

Too bad it's Thursday. All I have are a bunch of pictures to share and I really wanted to get them all up yesterday and make it an easy"Wordless Wednesday" post. I have no clever title for Thursday, so I'll just leave you to the pictures and pretend it's still Wednesday...
P.S. If you didn't catch Margaret's big news, keep scrolling down to the next post!!!
WHEN did our baby girl become old enough for a bike?!
Looking so serious!
Tea party for two, Margaret and Julia.
Home from her second day at school, Julia just wants to play.
Lovin' on the coupe!
Margaret, home from her second day of school, just wants to read her Scholastic Book Club catalog.

A girl after my own heart.
Mommy says this picture reminds her of Grampy :-)
Sweet Caroline trying to put a fallen leaf back ON the tree.

It Only Took 15 Months...

...but Margaret FINALLY has teeth!! Seriously people, poor Margaret has had nothing with which to defend herself against her 6 tooth strong, ankle biting sister, Julia. Until now. Check it out, two bottom teeth that finally emerged just after the girls' 15 month "birthday." I had to wait until now to reveal them because they have taken SO long to break the surface and actually grown in enough to photograph! Better late than never, Margaret!

First Day of School (Round Two)

In typical second (and third) child fashion, the twins back to school post had to wait a little extra time to be completed.
Julia and Margaret went to school for a whopping 1 and a half hours on Wednesday - the Group I "wade-in" process is excruciatingly painful for all...3 weeks of reduced class time until we finally hit the full 3 hours. The drop-off went off without a hitch; Julia actually smiled and walked all the way down the hallway herself, and while Margaret clung to me like Velcro at first, she quickly decided that her classroom did look like a place where she could comfortably spend some time. No one was in tears when I left and they both looked happy (or comatose - see below) when I came to pick them up.
The hardest part of the whole morning was just getting out of the house so we could go to school. Despite the fact that we live approximately 45 seconds from FPP, it took us over 20 minutes to get there because we had to go back in the house two times for forgotten items, the girls had to take a morning run (see below) after taking photos, and then (of course) Caroline needed to go to the bathroom. Sigh.

Silly Mommy, she thought she could leave J and M's school bags on the ground AND get a picture of both girls looking at the camera...
Hey, what's in here???
Wait, there's something inside!
Suh-weet!!! Snack time!
Yum!
Caroline was so excited for the twins' first day of school.

You'll have so much fun, Margaret!
Back inside while Mommy looked for her cell phone, Julia continues to snack away...

Then we're off on a little morning jog...

FINALLY, we make it to school! It's a shame this picture is blurry - Julia looked so cute walking down the hall.

This is going to be so much fun!
I like bubbles....I think....
When I came to pick up the babies, they were just coming in from a buggy ride. Sweet Margaret was out cold...

It was a great first day of school!

First Day of School (Round One)

Today was Caroline's first day of school! She will be going four days a week this year and she is soooo jazzed about it! She absolutely loved her first day with Mrs. Schmidt and Mrs. Hamner and all of her preschool buddies. When I picked her up at noon, she was bubbling over with all the things she'd learned on her first day. After lunch and some play and rest time at home, we met our friends at the playground for the perfect finish to the first day of school. It was a great day!
Julia and Margaret are set to go on Wednesday. I have high hopes that they will go into their classroom alone with no tears or temper tantrums, but we'll just have to wait and see!

Hi-ho, hi-ho, it's off to school we go!!
Putting her snack in her cubby with Mrs. Hamner.
Posing next to her attendance magnet.
Ok, Mom. That's enough pictures. Hit the road!
Later at the playground...
Julia is OBSESSED with the slide. And the ONLY way she likes to go down...
...is head first!
Caroline showing off some climbing skills.
Margaret was SO excited to see one her favorite friends, Wingrove.

Party Overload

**There are two new posts! Keep scrolling past this one so you don't miss the second one!**

Whew! What a weekend! We Heppers attended a total of 5 parties in the last two days. Three children's birthday parties and two adult parties. While each event was loads of fun, we are partied out and ready for the normal routine of a weekday!
Here are some pictures from two of the parties we attended. As you'll see, Caroline chose princess attire for both soirees.
ONE DAY, I will get a family photo in which everyone is smiling at once. Today was NOT that day.
Margaret in her favorite yellow tutu enjoying lunch at the picnic table.
Margaret orders a drink while Julia slurps one down.
Yum, cake!!

"Sleepin' Bluety" on the swings.
Caroline just about died and went to heaven when Cinderella showed up at this party.

Despite looking slightly terrified, Caroline was jazzed about the chance to take a picture with Cinderella.

Meet the Teachers Day!

On Friday, all three girls were so excited to have their Meet the Teachers Day at First Presbyterian Preschool! We have been waiting for the school year to begin for sooo long. I swear this day felt like it would never come! So on Friday morning, I was up and at 'em early to make sure we would be on time for the meet and greets. I had everyone ready to load up into the car and we were on target to be on time when I went looking for the twins and found this...
Oh hey, Mom. We're just playing in the dogs' water bowl.
You don't care that we're soaking wet, do you??

Luckily, nothing a quick outfit change couldn't fix. But by that time we were already going to be late, so I just threw in the towel and decided to take some pictures before we left.

Of course, then the twins got hungry....

FINALLY, we got in the car and actually made it to school. Let's hope every preschool morning does not go like this!

We went to the twins' classroom first for a visit with Miss Kim and Miss Rosie. Caroline loved seeing her old teachers and was so proud to introduce her sisters and show them around their new classroom. Both Julia and Margaret seemed right at home in the room, with each girl heading in opposite directions to explore. Julia hit up the play kitchen and Margaret spent a good bit of time fluttering from toy to toy, shrieking with excitement at each new find. We were also very excited to see that the twins have some friends in their class. Before we left, I broke the news to Miss Rosie and Miss Kim that Julia is not only a biter and hair puller, but that she is a breath holder as well. Luckily the veteran teachers didn't seem too fazed by this info. Hopefully Julia will remember that she is at school to make friends ;)

Julia checks out the kitchen in her classroom.
Margaret SO excited about this cool toy!
Group shot FAIL.
Caroline got busy right away in her room.
It's going to be a great year!
